RETHINK TRAVEL TO MEXICO

TRAVELER BEWARE...The State Department has issued a travel alert for U.S. citizens going to Mexico.  The number of non-natural causes of deaths increased 20% in 2007 from 2006.  The increase is due to the lack of security, safety, and inability to control criminal activity.  If the Mexican government or tourism industry has made any attempts to correct the growing problems their efforts are not effective.  We must send the Mexican government and tourism industry a STRONG message by not supporting their aggressive advertising promotions for U.S. and Canadian citizens to travel to the "well known vacation regions".  There are many other places in the world to travel and Mexico is not one of them.

Mexico Tourist Alert

Traveler Beware... This post is for anyone considering travel to Mexico.  The U.S. State Department has a travel alert posted.  The number of non-natural causes of tourist deaths are increasing at alarming rates in the "well known vacation regions".  Deaths increased 20% in 2007 from 2006.  The increase of deaths are due to lack of security, safety and the inability to control crime.  Despite the aggressive promotion of tourism to Mexico we must send them a STRONG message and vacation elsewhere.  Once tourism $$ drop we will get their attention and they will understand that they can no longer get away with murder.  Please refer to www.mexicovacationawareness.com or Google Brent Midlock.

Tourist Deaths Increasing At Alarming Rates In Mexico In A Must Read

BEWARE...Tourists deaths in "certain regions" in Mexico are increasing at alarming rates. The Mexican & U.S. governments minimize the facts at the expense of innocent individuals being killed due to unmanagable safety and security issues in Mexico.  The heavily promoted "Beyond Your Expectations" is the Mexican tourism industry's campaign to lure unsuspecting citizens to areas with proven dangers and deadly consequences.  U.S. Officials are very aware of the problems, but seeminly have some type of allegiance to assist Mexico's quest to grow their tourism.  Hence, an outcry of victims' families is growing with the goal and desire to save the lives of others. It should be the right of all citizens, not privledge to be informed of specific concerns when traveling abroad. If the U.S. won't do it then others must.

The Department of State is attempting to implement a multi billion dollar pledge to Mexico referred to as the Merida Initiative.  The primary goal of the initiative is to fund drug-trafficking control.  Funding should be considered for protecting U.S. tourists first!
U.S. Embassy in Mexico mission statement:  "The United States Government has no higher responsibility than to serve and protect its citizens, including those who reside or are temporarily abroad. The Citizens Consular Services (CCS) Unit provides prompt, courteous, and efficient services to United States Citizens and other clients, consistent with U.S. laws and regulations."
The statement contradicts a multitude of tragedies that hundreds of Americans are being forced to endure without support from any agency. In many cases, the Mexican tourism industry is getting away with murder, and neither country is attempting to stop it.  Documentation provided by reviewing; www.mexicovacationawareness.com; www.brentstravelwarning.com; www.hunterstravelwatch.com
